How To Make A Post

In any forum, such as Main Discussion, click the Create New Topic link (top right).

Or in any topic click Post Reply (top and bottom right of each topic).

myHOME

myHOME is your RunRyder homepage. Important features at myHome include:

Edit Your Profile: Under Optional Information, you can include a homepage, your birthdate, and a signature that can be appended to all your posts.

Under Additional Information, explain a little about yourself. What helis you fly, what your radio, gyro, governor and fuel preference are, your interests, and your occupation. This helps RunRyder members to get to know you better. All this information will be displayed under your profile. RunRyder members can click on the profile link associated with your member name to see this information.

Also under your profile, you can edit your email address and location.

Edit Options: This is where you can adjust the default settings for RunRyder. For example, you can change email notification settings for private messages and subscriptions. The default setting is to wait for five minutes after you are inactive on the site for RunRyder to send you an email notification regarding a new private message or new subscription activity. You can adjust this period of time as well as many other things like whether or not you want to be seen online, your time zone, etc.

Email Control: Five Items to Consider

Manage Your Subscriptions: myHome is the only location where you can manage your subscriptions. What are subscriptions? RR subscriptions is an optional feature that informs you via email and visual notification of new activity in topics and forums that interest you. It is a fast easy way to keep track of what is important to you on RunRyder.

By default, members are automatically subscribed to topics they post in. You can view all and delete subscriptions at myHome. To learn more about subscriptions,

Private Messaging: new, unread private messages are displayed at myHome.

Buddy and Ignore List: this is a useful feature to keep track of friends you have on RunRyder. Adding people to your buddy list allows you to easily send them a private message by clicking on the “PM TO BUDDIES” button. It also allows you to see which of your friends are currently online and you can see their status by hoovering over their name. Members added to your ignore list are also displayed at myHome.

myHome is the only location where you can manage your buddy and ignore list. To learn more about the buddy and ignore list, click here.

START HERE and VIEW NEW POSTS

START HERE is a link to the last seven days of topics with the newest first. VIEW NEW POSTS is a link to all topics with new posts since the last time you Mark New Read or since the last time you were active on the site.

START HERE and VIEW NEW POSTS have several different display options. You may refine your display by excluding different forum areas from being displayed. You can also view posts under a certain category like electrics only.

My Gallery

Create your own gallery to display photos of you, your helis, hobbies, events you’ve attended, etc. You can also add text to your gallery to explain more about a build you’ve done or any other topic you wish to cover. Here are a few examples of RunRyder Member Galleries:

Private Messaging

Private messaging (PM) is similar to email but is limited to registered RunRyder members. This is an easy and convenient way to talk privately with other RunRyder members. You can get to your private messaging by clicking on the PM link located at the top of every screen or by clicking Private Messaging at myHome. The PM link at the top of every page will flash () whenever you have a new private message.

RunRyder Moderating Policy

RunRyder is a large community with 12,000 active members and over 50,000 posts a month. To maintain site appeal RunRyder lightly moderates and does not micromanage every conversation.

RR moderation relies on member feedback, meaning for the most part, the site is community policed. Members contribute feedback by clicking Attn:RR on problem posts. This feedback and its source will not be revealed and will remain private.

Sometimes, problem post histories take time to become apparent. Just because you posted it does not mean RR read it or approved it (see Member Policy).

Important: RunRyder does NOT read member Private Messages unless they are specifically sent to RR. RunRyder does NOT moderate or get involved with Private Message traffic in any way, shape or form unless a PM is forwarded. Use your PM’s Report Spam link to report spam or illegal activity.

Please do not ask RunRyder questions via the forums. Due to the volume of posts made daily, RR does not read every post made. Use pmRR or Attn:RR for help or questions.
