Wouldn't be so cool if align comes out with a 30 class nitro to rock the Raptor 30 world I would have had a complete set off heli's 250 450 (550) 600 & 700 . I know the Align Guys read the forums we need a bad as 30 class nitro machine , Bert K Alan Z What Up ?

I personally don't think that would be an in demand heli at all, just my opinion of course but the cool factor isn't there at all imho.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

I personally dont think there is a good power to weight ratio for the 30 class nitro.

I hate 30 size machines, not a lot cheaper than a 50 and not a lot of use, under powered heap of junk.
I sure as hell hope they don't bring one out, I doubt that I will stock it if they do.

Why not jam a 30 in to a trex 500 and extend the blades and boom......that would give you a good power to weight raito for a 30.

Sounds good, we look forward to seeing your creation.

I dont stock 30 size helis, and I try to talk everyone out of them if I can.
The thing is the 50 can go from biginner to 3D expert, no need to upgade later so it is cheaper in the long run.
It costs about the same to crash a 50 as a 30 and the 50 flies much better, if you cant afford a 50 then you should probably look for a different hobby.

But if a 30 rocks your boat then go for it, at the end of the day as long as you are happy and having fun then that is all that matters.

I also think the market is not there for 30's. I hardly EVER see them at the flying fields any more. Cheap 50's are where the volume is at and now that the T700N is out, it flies on an almost 50 sized budget! Align will not build a 30, I am almost willing to bet on it. They would do Flybarless and Gasser first!

Once you have flown a 50, you can never really be happy with a 30 again IMO. Plus, the proliferation of sizes is out of hand as it is. Getting rid of the 30 class is a step in the right direction I think. For those that REALLY want a 30, the R30 is still around and Align is happy to leave TT those scraps.

I would love to see an electric version that turns around 530-550's. Kind of the same size as the logo 500.

Comming soon, Outrage 550! This heli rocks. It uses 6S and a Z-30 1100KV and it so quick and nimble. Go to helidirect and check out Steven Fox and HC ripping the sky with it. You can't deny the power/ weight facts. TimT

30's are very cheap in terms of fuel. I think that a .30 can still make a nice scale

My wife never asks me what I am thinking about: she already knows: sex and helicopters

disagree guys..

I have the 500/600N/700n's...550 Nitro Oh yes please..

No chance of a Gas or other exoctic 12S electric for me thanks..

Skatefreak already has a thread running about this..Stretched 500 looks to be a bit too lightly built IMHO, Something smaller lighter than a 600N would be brill..500-550 blades

Similiar idea as the 700 with 2 bearing blocks..Dump the push/Pull links single pushrod operation, less fuel capacity required in the tank, run with Mini Servos..smaller Lipo. Designed right it can match the power to weight of a 50.

Great for a small field, Loads of flights in a gallon, no charging batteries required as everything else this size is now electric.

I think you would be very surprised just how good it could be..

The OS32/Hatori 3D pipe can 3D a Raptor well enough..now cut a pound of weight away..I'm liking this..

The issue of fuel costs is all but gone

I think if anything they'd do a 550mm sized electric. 30 sized nitros are dead and dying dinosours.

How bout a 500mm blade 30 sized nitro turning around 2500rpm.

1 full size servo for pitch, all others mini sized to keep weight down.

That might make the power us 3d guys are looking for.

The market is all but swamped with electric..

The only reason the 30 is ignored is we started fitting 40's then 46's and now 50' into a 30 size airframe..

Time for some reverse engineering..at £30 a gallon even a 50 is expensive to fuel if you fly lots..electric is no different either.

In comparision a 30 is frugal but can/does kicks ass for its size without the overheating issues associated with .15 motors. All you got to do is put it in the correct size airframe

3xFutaba 9650's would power a CCPM setup fine with 4.5kg's each

A 30 would rock more than just the raptor 30 world..

The Raptor 30 is in todays world, an underpowered 50... it weighs more than a modern 50 but has much less power.

I don't think there's anything wrong with developing a modern lightweight heli that uses a 30 motor. With fuel costs going through the roof, I bet it would sell very well if the power to weight ratio was right. I seriously doubt that anyone would be stupid enough to release a 30 that's as heavy as a 50.

Flight time is what we all 3D guys are looking For !!!!

I have to say alot off you have deep pockets when it come to buying fuel, at the prices that fuel is at i have to pick which bird to fly today... My first nitro was a raptor 30V2 and it did me well with the flight time it gave me ...The guy at the field would use to hate when i was up to fly becuz i would be up for a good 15 mins off flight time ,which help me to excel fast with my entry level 3D ,and i say to anyone i know the more flight time you get the better you get... SO AGAIN I SAY IT WOULD BE AWSOME IF ALIGN CAME OUT WITH A TREX 550 (30 CLASS NITRO) ....B

Entry level nitro

A fifth class heli can seem a bit intimidating for a first timer...Alan Z. rock the raptor 30 like a rag doll ...Imagine a Trex 550N with more flight time ....HeHe Be Cool.

Not a nitro but my flybarless G550 with 500mm blades weighs in at 4.7lbs AUW. Light weight .30 size is possible.
