thought you guys might find this interesting

hooked eagle tree onto odin, now you know why you need proper bec etc to power 8717's

Fan draws +- 1.2 amps
all electronics at idle (no stick movements, no fan) +-0.2 A

stick banging, and this without any load (no blades etc) ave 8 amps.. peak 11a

so in the air presume will hit 15 or more amps ;-)

interesting as well, pack drops to 7v's...

Servos

I'd be curious to know how much current is needed for other servos. I thought the 8717's were overkill. I have never flown the 8717's so I might not know what I am missing.

ok, here graph.. peak at 3 amps

middle peaks is me hold swash .. so max current draw.. much better than 8717's. .bad damn. those 8717 are DAMN fast ;-)

The 8717's draw FIVE TIMES the current as other quality servos? WOW!!

This basically means then as long as you run a good 5000mah rx pack you should be fine right?

hope so ;-)

my setup is 2s 1p lipo, with reactor X
so the main servo's get 6.8v
rest of the system gets 5.2v.

2500 mah = 2.5 amps /hr
so we gonna get 2.5A/ 10A x 60 min = 15min at max current

but presume the ave will be about 6 amps.. so 25min of safe flying..

now, i don't know the voltage drop on i nicad or nimh packs.. but one need to make sure don't go below 3.8v under full load.

anyone got info on nicads ?
