Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > Setup needed for a SK360 Trex 500 Mikado head

Could some kind person post a screen shot of their SK360 Trex500 Mikado head setup? I'm having a hard time getting mine setup the way I like it. I'm looking for a sport to mild 3D setup. Mine is mushy/soft feeling on the cyclic around center stick. Also what is the recommended distance from center to the ball on the 3 cyclic servo horns when using the Mikado head? Mine are at 16MM on hitec 5245 servo's. Here is a picture of my current setup.
Thanks,
luckyflyer

Hi, abormor

Bell, Hiller and Damping values in the advanced tab are NOT active if "disable gain dials" is disabled and when you have enabled "Hiller dial also scales damping gains"

hi perfeet,

I thought that those readings came from the gials and you could see them here.
How do I know which are the settings I have now?

thank

I think you can click the 'show actual gains' button and it will pop up a little window showing the gain that's currently being used.

I checked the checkbox to turn off the dials, which allows one to read the gains right off the advanced tab (I believe), since the displayed gain setting is not combined with the gain dials anymore. I have mine mounted where I can get to the USB/programming jack very easily so I just connect the laptop when I want to make a change.

In order to comapare one heli's setup parameters to another, most likely the results of the popup screen showing the 'actual' gains will be needed or else the checkbox to turn off the gain dials will need to be checked.

I have the sk360 on a trex 500 with the mikado head and I've done a lot of tweaking just trying things out, it's my first taste of flybarless and so far I'm loving it.

I'm on the wrong laptop at the moment but I'll grab a screenshot later. However, I change the settings almost daily.

For new setups, the stock 3D settings are really good, I raised the control rates a fair amount to get a quicker cyclic and it's mostly been minor tweaks since then.

Lately I've been trying to squeeze the last drop of piroflipping ability out of the setup. It does EVERY other maneuver (that I can do) far better than the flybarred version except for the sustained stationary piroflips. (I understand that tight complicated piro maneuvers are some of the toughest things for all the digital flybarless systems to handle. )

I've been trying all sorts of things trying to get those optimized, and I am getting closer. Some blades work better than others. I just added some weight to a set of blades to see what effect it had on piroflips, and it helped. I'm about to convert a t-rex 600 with a skookum to see if a heavier disk and larger heli in general makes a difference. I'm hopeful since the smaller helis seem tougher for me to control in general, they are so much more agile (twichy) than the larger birds. But, then again, I like twitchy.
