From day one, I've had this issue. When the unit goes through initialization, the servos continue to buzz and chatter for almost 2 minutes. Even after the swash jumps indicating vstabi has completed initializing. This happens about 75% of the time when powering on the heli's electronics.

I always wait until the buzzing stops before getting airborn, but I'm afraid this will get worse or fail completely. I have another vstabi in my Pred Gasser and it doesn't make the servos buzz at all.

Thoughts anyone?

All my 8717s do this all the time, not a big deal, digitals do this. Are you saying you got same servos in both helis and this is only apparent on one?? What kind of servos are in each machine? The chatter is an element of the vstabi simply moving the servos a small bit, my small logo with 9650 and plastic gears does not make chatter, but i don't expect them to being so small and having non metal gearing.

Pred has 8717's, Logo600 has BLS451's

The other thing I noticed is that on the 600 the swash leans way over to one side then slightly to the other side, then the pump.

On the Pred, there is a subtle even side to side then the pump.

I also forgot to mention, the swash on the 600 doesn't sit level until all the buzzing has stopped about 2 min after power up and sometimes doesn't even sit level. I've reset to factory settings and gone through the setup 3 times and still very inconsistent.

Did you turn up your volume and hear how the buzzing just fades away at the end? It's more like chattering, look at the disconnected pushrods and you can see them jumping all over the place.

I have servos that make noise (9351, 9256) but that seems excessive. What power source are you using for the electronics?

Power source is via FP 2100 RX pack and Align B6X.

I've tried 4 cell pack direct to RX with same results.

I watched the video (nice touch to help others to see the problem). I have four V-Bar helis at this point, and none of them display the behavior yours does. All mine do the "pump" during initialization, but the the swash plate is level throughout the entire process. Yours wanders around and tilts . I've got to say it doesn't look right.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer as to what might be the problem, other than the V-Bar itself might be messed-up. I'd post the video on the Mikado V-Bar Wiki page forum, and let one of the experts there evaluate the behavior.

As to the servos buzzing all the time...normal, at least for the servos I use (8717's). They don't move however, just buzz.

I finally found the problem.

When I installed the Align B6X regulator, I cut the output lead (input to the RX) short just to make things neat and tidy. It turns out that the buzzing is caused by the short wire (maybe the length acts as a buffer/filter?). I know this because when I add a 3" servo extension between the reg and the RX, there is no buzzing and the vstabi unit initializes normally.

I guess stranger things have happened. I'm going to replace the Align reg with a BEC to eliminate the 2100ma RX pack anyway, so the problem would have gone away when I got around to making the conversion.

weird, well good to know you got it sorted, that's at least not an expensive fix.
