Link does not work. Do you own a Probar? How do you like it?

It's not out now, that article just says it's been tested for a while, and it'll be out at some point in the future. My favorite quote from that article is "Wow, this feels just like a flybar!". I hope not, if I want my helis to fly like they have a flybar, I'll leave the flybar on.

Opinion summed up by a prototype picture? Below is another picture for you but I ask that you judge the product based on flight performance and ease of adjustment since this is where 99% of our development has been focused so far.

Here is a prototype drawing of a cased version. Biggest issue with the case is that it will not fit most 450 sized machines (only T-REX 450 style frames) as well as the lite version.

The LED's are one option for setup and adjustment. I am currently working on a PC based setup and adjustment program but I really think most will only use the PC software for initial setup as the LED menu system is quite intuitive (IMO).

I've got an SK-360, and have flown enough V-Bar setups to know that the Probar is a better flying system than either. I flew with Bobby Smith(RReModels) this past weekend and we played with a couple flybarless setups including the Probar. We got video of his 8S Compass Knight 3D flying on a Probar, which I'll post a link to as soon as it is online. Bobby has done more flybarless conversions using the V-Bar than anyone I can think of. If the Probar can satisfy his expectations of a good flybarless system, then I'd keep an open mind before drawing any conclusions.

I would have been a bit concerned if it would be supplied without a hard case as there would have been no proper support for the connectors/wiring. But since there is a case, I can't see an issue.

Talking about a contradiction of terms!!
Which one is it??
I understand that as a Field Rep, you have to promote a product, but I always cringe when somebody else's equipment is declared as "Inferior" in comparison. This is up to the Users and Customers to decide, NOT to friends or Reps of the Manufacturer.

Despite all that.....another flybarless system on the market is great...the more the merrier.
This might just force our heli manufacturers to finally come out with at least new accessories, such as dedicated flybarless heads for retro fitting.

And if they don't do it then the aftermarket accessory Manufacturers are going to jump on the bandwagon as the market size is constantly increasing.

As an example:
This is the first jump into flybarless for me. The reason that I am jumping into it, is that one of my helies Manufacturer is actually bringing out a fully designed and tested flybarless head for his product.
On top of that, he is also making a new plate to increase usable mounting space for this specific reason.

Add to this that I purchased the flybarless system that they used for testing and that the Manufacturer is going to provide us with the settings that they found to work best for that combo,
and you have yourself a neat package with low risk and high probability of success straight out of the box, even for the first timer.

I am sure your Probar will be a success and I am looking forward to the first reports of your first Customers.

If the flybarless systems are as good as it is made out and the prices are in a realistic margin/window, I myself have another 5 helies that will need converting over the next couple of years.

I think he was referring to the original poster when he said "to keep an open mind" before judging how good or bad a system is before they use it..........Ron

I respect your opinion but like Ron has pointed out, you have misunderstood my post.

I cringe when someone believes that when a pilot is privy, or has binds with a company, pushes their associated products ONLY for the sake of promotion. What you need to realize is that we have our opinions too, and I wouldn't say something as loaded as the top dog V-Bar having a superior, unless I truly believed so.

What system are you flying? Your post doesn't specify.

Have any ideas how you'll be converting the Rave since the Flybar assembly is above the blade grips? I'm tempted to purchase a Rave but that held me back b/c I know I MUST convert to Flybarless

Why would having an over slung flybar make it so you can't convert? To me, this means when you do convert, you won't have a gaping hole in the head block.

While it's true you won't have the gaping hole, you might have an extended head on top which may look odd as well, like the pic below:
