When I'm fliping forward or backward my L500 vears left from tail in. I know it's not my thumb. My L600 doesn't do it at all. I checked the swash level with a leveling tool at neutral and full throw +/-. Everything looks balanced.

Anyone had this problem?
Why would this be?
How can I correct it?

this is flybar or vbar? Ensure no trims and also that at full collective and full negative on flybar that the swash is not tilting, if there is any tilt this can create this, to eliminate up or down according endpoints of that particular servo.

Thanks Shawn! It's flybarred. I'll check the end points.

With a flybared heli it is often times difficult to get "pure" cyclic controls without some interaction between the aileron and elevator.

In the past I've always had to mix some aileron to the elevator in order to get rid of (as much as possible) any roll that creeps in with elevator commands. And of course, elevator to aileron to help make the rolls better. This is done of course after the swash plate is confirmed to be level on the bench throughout the collective pitch range.

If you've never played with this type of mixing, it takes lots of flight testing, landings, programming, and more flight testing to get right. But, the results can make the heli much more enjoyable to fly...and makes you look like a better pilot as well .

By the way, the V-Bar solves all this. No mixing necessary to achieve "pure" flips and tic-tocs etc.

Believe me; if I had the money, I'd v-bar all my helis in a second. It'll happen eventually.

Thanks for the input. I do appreciate it. I have been attempting to compensate at the sticks with some success. But regardless, I'm a long ways from looking good. That has a lot less to do with equipment and configuration than skill level.

Maybe in a couple years.

Thanks again!

I just figured out why this was happening. My Aileron servo, an 8717, has about 1mm of free play. It slops back and forth with positive/negative pitch. This servo is still relatively new and has never been crashed. Anybody else have this happen?

Honestly all my 8717s have this amount of play, it has never imho affected flight though, or at least I do not think it does..... 8717s just are that, even new it seems there is a mm or so of play in them.....

To answer your first question, you got Phasing issue, in other words, you get aileron interaction with your elevator input.

(half flip and tail goes off, half flip more (continue the flip) and it goes back to its original place.

Since Logo head dont have adjustable phasing if you dont have VBar, I would check endpoints as mentioned, but also, take some pictures of the head, perhaps you reversed something, even I managed to reverse the upper pitch arm once..
