Hi All,

Keep your eyes out for the new Logo 500 3D model for the Phoenix sim. I had a chance to try it out and it's very accurate. When you're practicing on the sim, there's nothing like having your models to fly.

BTW, those guys at Phoenix are awesome. I paid $180 for my sim two years ago and they just keep giving me loads of free stuff -- models, sceneries, and tutorials. The new tutorials are awesome!

If you haven't upgraded lately, you're missing out. If you're flying with a different sim, you're really missing out.

Hi Guys,

No, it's the flybarred version. But it should be a short leap for them to get the 600 and the V-barred version of both. It wouldn't hurt if you guys would send them an email requesting those models. They might need you to test them out.

I also have the beta 5003D.
I find the standard setup it comes with strange.
I think the cyclics feel nice as standard but its a bit under powered.
Looking at the EDIT AIRCRAFT settings the max HS is 2800rpm.
the pitchs are set to +/- 10.
In real life the 500 asfar as i know does not run that high its around the 2300rpm mark.
And i run my pitch`s at +/-14.

I like to set that info into the settings, But then it seems i need to turn the motor power (KW) up to gain the punch power back.

With a bit of tweeking you can get it feeling quite nice.

I'm excited about this. I have Phoenix and G4.5 and I prefer Phoenix. Mostly this is due to how much better and smoother Phoenix runs on my laptop but, I also prefer the feel. I fly the Dominion flybarless on the G4.5 and either the N9 or Trex700 on Phoenix. I've tried the 3rd party downloadable Logos on G4.5 but no matter how I tweak them, I can't make them feel right.

I'm looking forward to some well developed Logos and with the pool of tallent available here on Runryder, I know we'll get it.

yes i agree on phoenix i also use the N9 it has a nice feel to it, although the climb rate is a little high as standard.
It will be nice to see a few mikados doing there ting on the sim.

If Reflex release a mikado 500,, bet you'll have to buy a whole new relaese..

That's one of the real beuties of Phoenix... lots of new models and no charge!

I just downloaded the new Phoenix Logo 500 sim file. It is definately nice to see the familiar lines that make up the L500. There are three versions: 500 Sport, 500 Tuned, and 550 Extreme. So far they seem to behave pretty accurately though a little underpowered. I'm sure that can be addressed.

Anybody know how to adjust the speed settings in Phoenix?

(edit) I upped the headspeed to 2600. That did it.

if you find it underpowered, just down the weight (from 3kg to 2kg for exemple)

Thanks! So far I've experimented with headspeed, weight, and horsepower. I think I like the 550 Extreme in its standard configuration minus two pounds.

Here's what I ended up with mine to simulate my real one as close as possible. Still can't get the cyclics and tail as crisp and sharp as everything is on the vbar but it's good enough to sim with. The other thing i've notice is that the blades feel a bit soft and dont' have the snap,crackle, and pop that my RT and BBTs have.
