e-Electric Batteries & Chargers > Voltage watch/indicator for A123 Rx pack?????

I want to use an A123 RX pack for my 2nd TREX700. I'm spoiled though from my Align 2n1 regulator for my other heli's, due to the visual indicator of where the Rx pack voltage is safe or not safe to fly at! What kind of product can I use to visually check the flight status of my Rx pack w/out directly connecting the pack to a voltage meter, ie removing the canopy etc... I know I can estimate how many mah I draw and conclude I could fly 2,3, or 4 flights per pack, but tbh sometimes I'm absent minded and forget how much I've flown on a certain pack. I like the visual backup.

What would you folks recommend?
thx

ps I was thinking of using this product set at the 6 setting and then maybe adding a step down diode to the reading unit but not sure which diode, I would need to step it down about 0.2-0.4v I believe.

Then again, I'm very very ignorant as to how A123's "drop off" when they discharge. For instance, once a lipo hits a certain voltage ie 3.2v, they basically fall of a cliff re: voltage. How low can I go with A123 and be safe to fly for an RX?

it can't be done
I have searched for it too but the discharge line it too flat so can not look at the current
only thing that is possible is to look at the amps
but a simple thing is do a flight and charge them again then look how much you charge and you can calculate how long you can fly with it
and you can charge the A123 every 2 flights at 10A so it only charge for 6min if your setup draws 250a300 ma every flight

hope it's helped

Agreed. You have to think of a123's differently. If you check their voltage before flight, and everything looks good, there's still a chance she'll shut down in flight. The discharge curve is very very steep at the end. Do as been said and fly a couple of times and then recharge to give you an idea of how many flights, or even throw it on the charger before each flight or two. These suckers can take 10A charge rates remember

NO SOUP FOR YOU!!
