Any suggestions other than gluing the tail boom to the main frame?

It should not be super tight, but tight enough not to slip. The boom should always be fully inserted into the tail, and the adjustment should be made at the main frame. Glueing anything on a chopper is generally not recommended. It should tighten.

Thank you. I am making the ajustment at the main frame but it does not hold. When it slips the tail oscillates out of control.

Just wrap a layer of black elec. tape around the boom and then tighten it up

Run a hack-saw blade between the side frames (with bolts removed)...you'll remove enough in a single pass to keep the boom from slipping.

This is a common problem that I ran into as well. I spoke with John about it a while back. According to him there is no plan to fix it. You either wrap tape around the boom which is not that uncommon of a practice or you slice the parting line with a hacksaw to reduce the diameter of the hole so it will pinch the boom before it bottoms out.
