Hello. I am new to this forum and was turned on to it by a friend. I have been flying planes for about four years now and last year I bought an E-Flight Blade cx. I have mastered (so I think) the basics on that model so I wanted to move up to a tail rotered machine. I had found the Axe Cp at a decent price on the internet with some small upgrades (tail boom, motors, lipo batt). I don't really plan on upgrading much because I just bought this to learn on and the replacement parts are cheap. I would like to learn for about a year and then move onto something else. Only thing I am having troble with is adjusting the pots to stop the model from rotating clockwise. I give the thing full left stick and adjusted the pot and can get the thing flying. But this sure doesn't help me in triing to hover and get used to the controls. Any help on this would be appreciated. Also, if anyone could let me know of any ABSOLUTE upgrades I would need for this model, please chime in. ANd yes I know, I should have purchased a blade 400 instead, but maybe it will be my next model.

Hey Panda, welcome to the club; here's a link that should help, it's for a blade cp, but the set-ups are pretty much the same.

Enjoy.

Ok, so Im scraping the Axe CP. I think I've learned all I can on this heli. I just can't get it dialed in. I can hover and forward fly it, but the tail is just so twitchy. The hel wants to wonder everywhere and trying to counter it facing me is tough. Ive upgraded the tail and so on, so a friend of mine told me to throw it in the trash and get a trex 450. I bought one on RR about three weeks ago and Im gathering all the parts for it as we speak. Tomorrow I should be getting my 401 gyro/tail servo, and spare crash parts (feathering shaft, beefy landing gear, and other misc items). All I need now is a radio and I will be ready. Im still no pro at setting my heli up, so a friend will help me out. I think still with all the frustration of flying the Axe, setup and trial and error on the 450 will prevail!

Update. I got the 450 airbourne today! With help from my friend we got it pretty much in tune (not perfect but I can fly it). I have to say, I can tell a huge difference in what I had to what I have now. I just need to practice and not be so scared of crashing the thing. Hopefully in a couple weeks time I'll be comfortable with the 450 and be where I want to be in my flying technic.
