7th LMAC Heli Fly-In

Sept. 13th - 14th, 2008

Lunch served both days. $20 landing fee, free to spectators, pilot prizes. $100 prize for auto contest, otherwise open flying. Scale, 3D, FAI or just hovering, come fly with us!

Website:
www.lmacky.org

On site RV camping is available. no hook ups. We would like to know if you are camping because one person on site will need a copy of the gate key.

There are several hotels in the area. These are the two I know to have had positive feedback:

The Sleep Inn is in Hamburg Pavilion. A new and large shopping area in Lexington and is surrounded by restaurants and shops. There is also has a large movie theater nearby. You can have pets for an extra fee. Probably the best hotel if you want to bring your family. The Hamburg Pavilion does have some of the worst traffic planning I've seen.

There is also a Holiday Inn Express and several other hotels on Elkhorn Rd. It is at the closest exit to I64. I would recommend the Holiday Inn Express of the hotels on that exit. There are not many restaurants at that exit.

did see Roberto.

We are so sorry. He gets away from us sometimes.

I wanted to go but I had a few things pop up at work that prevented me from making any plans. Roberto said he had a lot of fun. I'll try again next year.

Our raffle prize this year will be a TRex 600 nitro.

CD and event coordinators are not eligible to win this or other prizes. They can not buy or otherwise receive prizes from those who win for less than the full retail value. If the CD or event coordinators win a contest any prize money goes back to the club.

I think I can finally make it to your event this year! I am the event coordinator for a full scale fun fly the weekend before. ( city drafted me to run it ) We expect 175 to 200 aircraft for that one and I will be ready to relax and fly a bit myself!

PS Roberto, I did get the paddles

The event is officially 13th-14th. Originally posted as a three day event. A little confusion with the club. But we will be there Friday as well.

Bill,
I can't remember if it was last year or the year before there was a guy that set up a real nice vendor booth on the right side of the field. Do you know if he'll be there this year? Will you have any other vendors there? I know you always have a local guy that sets up a booth, he's always been really helpful.

Thanks Glenn

That was Big Al's from Alabama. I think he may be there as a pilot. I'm not sure if he will set up a vendor tent.

Hi guys,

Let's get ready to ROCK Lexington! If anyone hasn't seen Bill Pirschel's Turbine Huey, it will be worth the trip by itself. It's awesome!

Here is at IRCHA '08.

Mark,
I'm glad to hear you are going to attend, watching your demos is my favorite part of this funfly, aside from the good people that host and attend this event.

Even my wife sits up and takes notice when you fly. She says "I want you to fly like that". I keep telling her "The only thing standing between my being able to fly like that is more stuff"(just kidding).

I have one of your tail blades that was chewed up after one of your demos, man that must get expensive.

See you @ the funfly.

Once you get off on exit 87 on I64, you should be able to follow the signs right to the field. We are not far off the interstate.

4200 Hedger Lane, Lexington, Ky. 40516 is the street address. I've not tested that address in any GPS.

Bill,
Will there be any night flying?
Also if I remember correctly you must be present to win the drawings. Will the drawings take place on both days?
I'm trying to decide if I'm going to grab a room and stay the night or just attend Saturday.

We can have a night fly but there have been no formal plans for one. You need to be there to win the pilot prizes but not the raffle prize. But you need to stay both days. If for no other reason than we are just great people to hang with .
